Brown Sugar Crumble Apple Pie Filling
We will be topping our pie top with a delicious streusel that bakes up with a great brown sugar taste and subtle crunch. Another great thing about this recipe is it freezes great. Just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap (shown in the pic below) then tuck it in the freezer. When you go to bake it just pull it out and let it thaw completely and bake as normal.
This recipe is enough filling for 2 pies. This recipe is so easy and turns out great every time
Ingredients
- 10-12 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ¾ cups sugar
- 4 tbsp clear jel or cornstarch
- 1 tsp cinnamon
TOPPING:
- 1½ tsp cinnamon
- ⅔ cup brown sugar
- 1½ cups flour
- 12 tbsp butter
